Surely if they didn't comment it would be a bit pointless because you will not know what needs to be improved?

My teacher always comments, whether it is good or bad. Infact, there is never a bad comment, it is always more advice on how and what I need to improve.

My piano teacher does. The seond music teacher at our school is completely blunt, which isn't v helpful. The head of music sits there and says "good" to everything you do. But if he doesn't look at you when he says it, he's lying, so you know it was bad! Mind you, if something was really good, all our teachers let us know about it!

If your music teacher is not commenting on how well you perform then (s)he is not teaching you performance.

Whether (s)he is supposed to be is a different matter. WIthout knowledge of results you can learn almost nothing.

my teacher comments alright, just not on my playing!! lol i wish at least some of the comments were at least honest or in some way constructive!!
