I'll be opening the application process shortly
Saturday September 18th 2010 11am-5pm
An opportunity to perform in an informal environment. All instruments and standards welcome. The venue has a rather lush and very playable Bosendorfer Grand! An accompanist (or two!) is/are available for the event but any pianist wishing to accompany can do so too.
It'll be a really laid-back affair - no pressure to perform if you do not wish to but if it's anything like last time (very much turn up and play) you may surprise yourself!!
In order to keep the event running relatively smoothly, the order of events will be roughly as follows:
and we'll end the day with:
There'll be plenty of time for rehearsals - and socialising! More about that later
Sunday September 19th 2010 10am to 1pm
This will now be an orchestral workshop - all orchestral instruments of any standard welcome. The workshop will be run jointly by Philip Heyman and Ross Cohen, who have kindly agreed to donate their fee to charity. Ross has a lot of experience in running orchestral workshops and Philip works with WNO Max. There will also be a performance from the 'boys' at some point during the morning.
barry-clari may be able to add further info - not entirely sure what else is planned but with b-c on board this promises to be a great event!
Costs-wise it'll be £7 for the 18th, £10 for the 19th and £15 for both days. Be aware that there are on-site parking charges which is why I have tried to keep the cost of these events to a minimum.
All proceeds will to towards the Chaplaincy Fund and The Noah's Ark Appeal. Light refreshments will be provided - there is a restaurant and WH Smith on-site for lunch and other snacks.
