Just wondered if anyone has ever been awarded full marks for one of their exam pieces?

I've had a few pupils through the years who managed to get 30 for one of their pieces. They're few and far between though - it's always a bit of a shock when you actually see it there on the mark sheet!

I had a grade 4 student last session get 29 29 30 on his pieces. Weird thing was he got the full marks on the piece he was least confident on!

woah! I always wondered if it was possible! For some reason i thought that if you got 30 marks then that would suggest a perfect performance, and how can a performance be perfect...?

I've got a more interesting question, what's the worst mark anyone has got for their pieces? Is there such thing as zero marks? ( although anyone would have to be REALLY bad to get that... maybe if you just sat there and didn't play anything...)

I think the marking criteria says "0 marks- no work offered" though I might be wrong, and the least they actually award is 10? Can anyone confirm this?

So far I never heard of anybody getting 1-9 marks for a piece.

It's true: there's a minimum mark they can award you if you actually play something that in any way could be considered to resemble the piece or part thereof.
