Anyone could shed some light on where I could go in Singapore for some good jazz piano course? Maybe following AB's syllabus? I went to a jazz teacher once, she is very good in showing me her techniques. But I found that the way she teach is not very systematic. I attended her class for abt 2 months, but cannot really anticipate where I am going. She asked me to experiment myself, which I do not understand how I could do so. Hence, I am a bit lost... sad.gif Have bought some jazz piano book, I however strongly feel that if someone is guiding me in a systematic way. It would be much easier.

btw, I am classically trained up to g8 level on piano. Now would like to try something new & interesting. Jazz is something that I always fascinate about.....

Cheers

Hi there scherzo!

I chanced upon your enquiry today after being away from this website for a while.

Firstly, I hope you were not one of my former students unsure.gif wink.gif

Anyway, I understand your frustrations concerning good jazz/contemporary performers who are not necessarily good and/or systematic teachers dry.gif Hence, I have devised a structured and easy-to-follow jazz piano course.

If you still have not found a suitable teacher - don't give up yet! tongue.gif - or are still interested to pursue lessons, please contact me at my e-mail address: nichelee@hotmail.com or alternatively, visit www.myinspiration.com.sg where I am Head of Jazz.

A brief profile of myself: I am also classically-trained and hold a teaching diploma. I pursued jazz and contemporary keyboard studies in US many, many moons ago tongue.gif Originally from Malaysia, I have been teaching in Singapore for the past year now and have been quite successful in imparting jazz and contemporary piano styles to my growing group of appreciative students (many of whom are classical piano teachers). smile.gif

Hope to hear from you!
