Mine is also chopin, a lot of his works are wonderful, eg. Nocturnes, Waltzes, Polonaises, Ballade, Etudes....though quite tough, it is worth playing...

Where's Bach and Faure???
Love Bach's Partita in A minor. Such a great suite.
Also I forget the name but one of my favorite peices is a Faure one, I'll have to find the name.
I know that this isn't meant to be about musicals but I just adore Claude-Michel Sconberg music in Les Mis and Miss Saigon.....

Chopin is my favourite as well, as you can probably tell by my screen name. Such marvellous piano music, absolute pure genius. There are so many favourite pieces of his it varies from day to day.
I also love Rachmaninov (ditto screen name - "-off" looks better for it hence I went for that spelling instead) where my favourite work of his is the 2nd piano concerto though I also love the Paganini Variations. Beethoven's tied with Rach and my fave is his Pathetique sonata.
Pianist64, are you doing Grade 8 piano at the moment? Just wondering if that was why your favourite is the Waltz in E minor. I love that piece too and am using it for List C. In fact I love every piece for my exams this year - Bach, Chopin and either of the Beethoven sonatas (haven't decided which to go for yet).

What happened to Sibelius? and Wagner?

There is no composer like Liszt. He is top of my list. As a pianist there will always be pieces by him that I will find a challenge. Chopin is also a great, but no question the greatest composer of all time is Mozart. He would write a symphony like anyone else would write a letter, although there is more to composing than endless semi-quavor movement.

My favourties would be
Chopin (Excellent pieces, love em all!)
Bach (I love his preludes and fugues)
Faure (Also wonderful
My ultimate favourite (that nobody has said

)
dubussy. I love all his works, especially clair de lune and Réverie. My favourite piece his one of his which is La fille aux cheveux de lin, which i started playing when i was on my grade 3!

Same-Beethoven rocks!! Everyone has their own opinions on who's better out of Mozart and Beethoven but I like Beethoven not just because he's amazing at music, but also because he's crazy!! Wooo!! And Mozart is good as well because he's really perfect at music but Beethoven's just better I think.

On the original question, who is the most popular composer from your list? It's between Mozart and Beethoven.

Based on the choices you had, my ranking (and it's purely subjective based on what I've heard and played) would be:
1. Beethoven
2. Brahms
3. Schubert
4. Mozart (I think he's brilliant, but I'm just not a huge fan of his style of light music, nor am I probably the best at playing it)
5. Vivaldi, Handel, and Pachelbel - I've heard works by them, but not enough to judge them
Overall, not based on the list from the poll, I also like Liszt, Debussy, Chopin, Schumann, and Mendelssohn.

you seem to have a rather limited selection.
When playing the piano, Chopin, Bach and Mozart
flute- Kohler
cello- Elgar (Cello Concerto is wonderful)
treble recorder- Telemann or Handel
but overall my favourite is probably Chopin!
