hey all...lookin for some help..!

got my GV theory soon and while revisin saw i needed to know many terms italian, french, german etc.

iv learnt the ones from the 'Theory In Practice' books IV & V but i think im meant to know more than that. does anyone know of an internet site which has these terms and their meanings.

thanks in advance biggrin.gif

You probably wont need to know anymore terms or concepts but to be on the safe side you could always learn the terms at the back of the AB guide To Music Theory book 1. Thats what i did and got a merit! But remember the concept question is only worth 10 marks, i think, from what i can remember, i sat it in March last year!
well hope this helps.
Good luck!

No I don't know of one specifically. But...I think you are only expected to be familiar with the meanings of the words that are listed at the back of the theory books [for each grade]. The grade 5 book has the Italian and German words.

Hi

Im doing grade 5 theory in june. All the words you need to know the meaning of are in Eric Taylor's Theory in Practice books- you do not need to know any more. There are loadz of words 2 learn the list seems never ending!!! but dont panic over them coz in the exam they r not usually worth many marks when they appear(that is if they do appear on the paper coz often they dont)!

Hope this helps

i think that the exercises that you did is already more that enough. instead, you should practice more on questions that will gain you more marks. hope that helps. smile.gif

Don't panic too much about music terms at grade 5. I took my exam last year and there were only two single word answers required. They are very useful to know for your playing in general, so don't skip learning them, but are only a very tiny part of the exam itself.
Good Luck!!!!
