Ok I'm having a very blank moment. Must be end of term! sleep.gif
I have a pupil who is working towards Trinity Grade 8 clarinet and would like to play the Brahms E-flat Sonata for her A piece. The syllabus says it's the 3rd movement so does she stop at the new dynamic marking (Allegro non troppo) or continue to the end of the piece? I love this piece and have played it many times but have never thought about in terms of exam syllabuses (syllabi?)!

Thanks!

The 2nd (Eb) sonata has just three movements - the new tempo marking is just that, a new tempo marking. So you need to play both the Andante and the Allegro sections.

Thank you! That's what common sense was telling me but I wasn't quite convinced for some reason!
