Ok, today I bought two dresses very similar to this, but the skirt part is less poofy, more slimline.
What shoes do you wear with them?! I went shopping with 3 friends today, and we all got them (2 for £12 in Motel!), but then when I got home I realised I have no shoes that match them really. Not being the most fashion-conscious people, none of us have a clue what to wear them with tongue.gif
I have tons of ballet pumps that are totally flat, but they look really stupid with it and tights, and I don't "do" really high heels in the daytime.
Any ideas?!!! laugh.gif

oooh, and one has a purple floral skirt bit, and one is a dark blue and red flower pattern, but both with the black top part.

Are you sure that pumps look ridiculous with it? Lots of my daughter's friends wear dresses in this style with pumps and they look very nice! I'm not sure about the tights, though.

Or how about a not-too-heavy-looking gladiator sandal, like this?

WHat a gorgeous dress!! biggrin.gif are you sure that pumps look silly? A lot of my friends wear dresses like this, and they often wear pumps with them smile.gif if not, how about a pair of really low wedges? They'd not be skyscraper heels, but still a bit of height if you think totally flat looks daft smile.gif

blush.gif I hope you've got suitable underwear to go with that. Visible bra straps are a pet hate of mine, but maybe I'm just old-fashioned. blush.gif

I'd say little pumps would go very well - but you want lightweight girly ones, not hefty ones.

Alternately strappy little black sandals would work well.

I could lend you a pair of size 12 Black Air-Ware Doc Martens - would they go with it? unsure.gif

They're not that hefty! rolleyes.gif

Funny, dm's are exactly what I'd wear with it lol!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'tights'... I wouldn't have thought skin-coloured would make much difference, but if you're intending to wear black or something then I suppose it might look a bit peculiar.

I am seconding others on the pumps though. I have a couple of dresses in that sort of style (and am a similar age) and for a casual day-to-day thing I'd go with some pumps, or alternately some gladiator sandals if those are your thing smile.gif Or if you were wearing it to a party or something, would small heels be do-able? unsure.gif

Thanks everyone smile.gif
Um, I think pumps are probably the way to go then: I guess I need a different style, as mine looked a bit strange with black tights, though they looked ok I suppose with bare legs. I looked like a penguin....my feet a disproportionately big (ok, they're just flat and square, rather like a shoebox) for my medium height so I looked like I was wearing flippers laugh.gif I'm going to search for some foot size reducing pumps now!

If you feel you have to wear tights, try something very lacy, rather than a solid colour.

I quite often see people wearing this kind of dress over leggings if tights seem a bit much, and bare legs a bit too bare.

I'd second the gladiator sandals vote too
Susie
Lovely dress, and good value!

I'd second the pumps, but you could also wear ordinary sandals of the strappy sort if you didn't want gladiator ones.

Well it isn't the exact one in the picture, but it's very similar. They were reduced from £29 EACH so I was really pleased!
I'll try them on with my gladiator sandals too smile.gif

By tights, I meant just the normal black kind, though I do like those very light ones with little black dots on them so I think I could try those.
corenfa
How about Mary Janes? I know people say they're like the sort of shoes little girls wear.. but I think they're adorable with dresses. You could dress it up by wearing really crazy tights and then there'd be no danger of being mistaken for an overgrown little girl.

Ooooh, strappy sandals or pumps, definitely! Such a lovely dress - I wanted one like that for ages but gave up looking in the end. smile.gif
