Hi everyone!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Hope everyone had a good christmas!!!

I have recntly just got a cough and it's a bad one can you still play your flute if you have a cough or will it make it harder.

Please post some replies as i need to start practising as soon as possible because i have an exam in march and want to do as well as possible

Of course you can still play the flute with a cough- it does affect the breathing though, so don't get stressed if you need to take extra breaths. If I have a cough, I usually just work on technique and things like that, because personally, I find it irritating having to stop playing everytime i need to cough. It's just as annoying playing with an ulcer on your lip mad.gif it really badly affects your tone!!

hey sarah

im sure you'll do brilliant in ur exam, distinction i think. anyway you will probably find you need to breathe a lot more. i hope youve been practising your scales!!! tongue.gif

Take it easy though, playing forte can irritate your throat more, as I found out when I had tonsilitis the week before my grade 8!

If the exams not till March, I wouldn't worry too much.
