Hi
I'm hoping to take my grade 7 piano exam in february/march. My biggest fear is the aural tests. Last year when I took grade 6 my local music shop sold me a Sound Wise practice test to help with aural tests which I found really useful. The shop's now closed and although I have managed to find places that sell other aural test cd/cassettes I prefer the ones by Sound Wise. Please can anyone let me know an outlet that I can buy a Sound Wise Grade 7 aural test practice cassette or cd from to try and calm my nerves. Thank you!

Hi - I haven't heard of the Soundwise cassettes but I did my grade 7 last year and I got some useful books and cassettes from musicroom.com - I think they were called aural training in practice - they were very helpful. Just got the same ones for grade 8 !
Good luck!

Hi, New on here so go easy on me! smile.gif
I am planning to do grade 8 violin this coming term (not that i'm ready for it, just dont want to learn a whole new set of pieces!), and am really really worried about the aural bit. Have never been able to do the whole listening to a tune and singing it back, not even grade 1 so i've given up on that. My main problem is that i am totally dense when it comes to the theory aspect of music (like cadences and modulations). I actually don't have a clue what any of it means!! Could anyone reccommend a book or something that might help me? I need all the help I can get!!
Any replies would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Allison
