Hi,

Sadly my clarinet teacher is moving and I now need to find a new teacher. I'm just wondering if anyone happens to know any good teachers in Cardiff.

Thanks
Halka
I'll say what I always say when this topic comes up....(so sorry if you've heard me before!) Have you investigated RWCMD, in particular their "Access Studies" provision - see here ? They do clarinet lessons for amateurs of all ages. You have to audition, but I was told by someone who does lessons there that it is only so that they can see what sort of level you're at.

Hi Halka,
Thanks for that information. I didn't know they did idividual lessons there. I have just had a look, the only down side is the logistics of parking around there would be a nightmare, they do also seem expensive, they want £28 just for the audition! I imagine that the level of teaching is very good though. I will deffinately bear them in mind. Thanks

Hi BC,

Still no teacher as yet, I have a couple of names now though and will give them a ring and, hopefully might find someone by the end of the week.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Had you thought of asking if one of the students at the RWCMD could offer lessons?

Hi,

Many thanks to everyone for their suggestions in helping to find a teacher.

I have now found a teacher who is willing to take me on - she may live to regret it!
She is a peripatetic woodwind teacher.

I can't wait to get back into lessons again, and no doubt my neighbours will appreciate it too!
