Well my son fell off scaffolding yesterday whilst he is doing his renovation on his near derelict home in France. Luckily it was only 5 ft high but he has still managed to break his foot. They went to the hospital today and they have put plaster on up to the knee, he is equiped with crutches and he has to inject into his tum every day whilst he has the plaster on to keep the blood thin.

Poor son, his 30th birthday in just over a week, so much to do on the property, trying to get his dad in his bungalow in 2 weeks, and trying to get as much work done before the weather gets bad.

Also has satellite installations to do in 2 weeks which he will have to postpone, hopefully the customers will be understandable (can't get on a roof with a broken foot). Hopefully if he can manage to get himself upstairs he will be able to carry on with his PC business to keep some money coming in.

Oh dear!

Poor old ET - your family do seem to have their share of "adventures". thereThere.gif

Hope he heals quickly, ET, and that everyone is patient with any delays smile.gif

Sorry to hear of your son's accident. sad.gif These things are done all in a minute, but take a long time to mend. Try to persuade him not to do too much until the foot is fully healed.

Ouch! That sounds very painful. I do hope he recovers soon and well.

It's an occupational hazard when renovating property, unfortunately. I hope that it doesn't delay the job too much.

Just three thoughts ;

Is Son properly 'in the system' in France ? If so, he may well be covered by accident insurance.

Move PC downstairs. Far easier than hobbling upstairs.

(And, not for the faint-hearted but : Friend of a friend fell off a ladder in France a few weeks ago (5 ft up, if that, changing a lightbulb) and unfortunately cracked his head and died a few days later. He was a good deal older than your son but all the same . . . .).

Now off to think happy, Julie Andrews, kitten and snowflake thoughts . . . .

Thanks everyone for your wishes. And yes dolce@piano well in system of France so everything has been covered by insurance, thank goodness they had the sense to do this, even though short of money. The pharmacy alone was 250 euros which included a pair of crutches. Unfortunately, there is no one that can move the PC downstairs for him, his wife isn't able to do that and his dad wouldn't have a clue, doesn't even know how a PC works, lol.

That is awful about your friend Dolce and yes, that is what I keep thinking about how worse it could have been. Maybe I should be telling my son that he needs to start wearing one of those hard hats that they wear on building sites. Just doesn't bear thinking about, your poor friends family.

And I know what you mean Stetenorve with my family and I didn't mention that my poor brother has pluirisy at the moment. No wonder I feel like a nervous wreck, with all this sickness and accidents around me! lol

I am just waiting to hear from my son's wife to see if he has done his first injection yet, after that I can relax knowing that he can do it ok.

At least next week I have a few days thinking of nothing but piano when I am at Pro Corda, should come back feeling a whole lot better to cope! lol

Hope it heals quickly for him!

Just catching up on some of the threads after a hectic week; Please do get your son to wear a protective helmet. A broken foot is very nasty but a head injury could be a lot worse. Hope he is recovering quickly.
