Hi all...

I hate to say this but my dreaded four year old digital Yamaha piano is starting to rattle and I'm not too impressed... I am also sure that it is losing its touch, as in weighted keys getting lighter. As I teach piano and hope to do a diploma myself, I am considering getting a new piano, and keeping the digital for recording purposes. I have seen a few, and have taken a liking to Kawai pianos. Like the blindfolded pianist one. smile.gif

Has anyone got one and can advise me as to whether I will benefit from a Kawai piano?

Depends on how much you want to pay and what kind of tone you want. It really is a question of getting what you pay for.

I personally did not like kawai when I bought my piano about 7 years ago and went for a Kemble with which I am very pleased. Best you try out lots of makes and see which you like best.

I'd sooner go without. Its like buying a Bettamax VCR !!

We have a Kawai baby grand at school and it's really nice but on some Kawais the tone can be a bit manky so I'd advise you go and try some out before buying one.

Last week one of my friend bought a Kawai digital for approximately £600, I have to admit I don't really like the sound.

I love my Kawai - it has a really bright tone and is great to play biggrin.gif
