Hi, everyone. Firstly I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2005... I feel like doing more things until it will be too late.
I passed grade 7 piano with merit in 2002. I used to live in San Francisco and I had a really good piano teacher; however I moved out of the the Bay Area. I am now living in LA. I am looking for a good teacher that will help me with getting prepared for the grade 8 exam and some other exams like teaching and will teach me more about piano and music. I haven't quite practice in the past one and half year. I need to catch up a lot!

Does anyone know any good piano teachers in the LA area? I prefer English spoken teachers, although English is not my first language.
Thanks a lot!!!

sorry - this isn't a reply to the question (i live in england so i don't know anyone!) why don't you put this question on the teachers forum? just thinking that they're the teachers, they might be more likely to know someone! or you could put it on the general forum - it might be seen by more people then!
good luck with grade 8 when you take it!
Helen
Well since these boards are worldwide, have you tried looking for an advert in your local library or a publicplace with a notice board? At my local library, there are loads of adverts for teachers looking for students, or do you know anyone who takes piano lessons that could ask their teacher if they have spaces, or if not, for a recommendation?

Hi Sharon,

Although I don't know of any specific teachers, why don't you try looking on the notice boards of local music shops in your area? Or try your local telephone directory.

As an alternative, why not get in touch with your Associated Board local representative who should be a good source of information. To find out who yours is, please go to our US country pages and click on "Representatives" in the left hand menu bar.

If you'd rather read this information in Spanish or Chinese, please select your language here:

I hope that this helps, and good luck with your hunt for a teacher.

If anyone has a personal recommendation for Sharon, please don't post the teacher's name or contact details on this forum. Instead, please send Sharon a Private Message. You can do this by clicking on the PM button at the bottom of her posting.

Best regards
