Sorry to start off a new thread but I am sure loads of people will find this one handy.
I am starting on my grade 3 now and I wanted to ask if anyone had any advice on which examiners look for and things i or we may find tricky at times?
Thanks for the help!!
Welcome to the forums, shivani
If you go to the bottom of this page
, you will see a link to a booklet called These Music Exams. It's very helpful generally, but specifically there is a section which tells you how the marking scheme works, ie how many marks are awarded for scales, aural, sightreading and pieces. It also tell you what the examiner is looking for, so you'll be able to tell what will get you a better mark.
The booklet is also available in music shops.
Good luck with your next exam, and I look forward to hearing what pieces you're planning to learn. I've only just passed Grade 1 this summer so I've a way to go yet before catching up to you
