One of the things I would really quite like to do sometime is go and see a live professional performance of Rach2 because it is awesome. Perhaps I am planning a bit early, but next year, starting in October, my girlfriend will be going to university at SOAS in London, and it struck me that this would be the ideal time not only to go to such a performance (there must be one in London, surely?) but to actually take someone with me so I don't look like a loner! Unfortunately, looking around the internet, I can't seem to find a single website that makes it easy to find musical events. I recognise that it is possible the event I am looking for may not even exist yet, but just in general all the websites seemed more oriented towards popular music and plays/musicals. So, does anyone know of a good facility on the internet for finding classical music events in London?

I didn't realise you'd got up yet!

How about this site?

The Classic FM concert diary, and the aforementioned Time Out guide are probably the best 'one-stop shops'. But do also look at the South Bank, Barbican, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall and Royal Albert Hall websites for more ideas. smile.gif

Bachtrack is the site you want. And by putting in your criteria, I get this: Concert Link

It's a very useful website, and has an iPhone app as well, so you can find gigs when you're on the go.

Mind you - October 2011 will be the start of the next season (roughly Sept 2011 - July 2012) so although the various orchestras probably know what they're doing then, they won't have advertised it to the general public yet.

Why don't you post up the events that you find that you're interested in and perhaps we can get a group of Forumites to come along for a daytrip. I'd be up for that!

What an excellent site especially when travelling and you would like to know whats on locally! I have added this to my Favs and will certainly be dipping into it regularly.
Thank you
