Hi All

I've been studying jazz piano for one year now and passed my grade one last November.

Just registered on the forum and hoping that someone can advise me on who are popular jazz composers, especially in a swing feel, and prehaps a few titles of well known pieces. and hopefully material that is possably available at grade 2/3 level,outside of the syllabus for additional learning/playing.

Try "Bags Groove" by Milt Jackson. Also you could pick up the Real Books published by ABRSM, theres loads of stuff in there to mess about with.

I can suggest buying the Black and White box set of Jazz. I got mine in Virgin for 17 pounds!! 7 CDs!!! (or maybe 8). But still. Jam packed of all the classics, with very few "scratchy" type recordings.

You'll be in heaven!
