This could prove to be interesting and might be good on the general discussion forum as it is generally thought that the more creative/musical people are lefties.
Me, I'm right handed.

at my stage of uni I can't afford to hate composing, but since I've worked more on the piano my creativity has diminished
I guess in the grand scheme of things, any instrument that uses two hands equally would require some ambidexterity in the eyes of a string player and most brass instrument players

String players need to be ambidextrous. They have different capabilities in the two hands, but in the brains of expert violinists the area for motor control of the fingers of the left hand gets enlarged.

I'm right handed, but I think a lot of left handed people can write with both hands. My Science teacher is really left handed but he can right beautifully with both hands! But he never writes with both hands at the same time on the black board. However, it's odd that he writes "J" differently. A lot of left-handed people can write with the right hand, too because you do a lot of stuff with your right hand, especially in playing music. In Indonesia here, if you give something with your left hand it's considered impolite. You have to let them know you're left handed first.
A disadvantage in being left-handed is that in piano playing usually the left hand just does simple accompanying while the right hand gets the difficult part. This style always makes our left hand fingers much more slower than the right. In the late grades you usually concentrate fast scales on both hands, even though they can still ask you to do it separately. You feel that because you can play with enormous speed on both hands, separate hands would be very easy. But it's not that way. Try playing that fast with the left hand alone. I'm sure you won't always be successful. Left handed people may have fast left hands but unfortunately they aren't used very often, except maybe in the case of a few Chopin etudes.
Do you know any left-handed composers? I would like to see their piano music, does it have a lot of left hand difficulty?

I believe that the left hand is considered unclean in all Moslem societies. Do left-handed people use their left hands for eating in Indonesia?

Yes, they do. It's unclean because of something that makes everyone think the left hand is dirty. I know that but I can't tell you, it's too impolite and nonsense to tell.

No, but my primary school tried to readjust my writing technique as I write differently to everybody else as well as being left handed. The main reason left handers have to write differently is to stop the ink smudging which is really annoying - that's why I write in pencil most of the time when I can.
