hi there...i'm not grumbling how bad i am on my piano playing....it's just that i happen to know (today) that my piano exam (trinity) will be in 2 months time....plus...it's roughly 3 years i haven't been to a piano exam.... and i'm not doing it in my own school....help....advise needed....
hannah
is this for a piano diploma?

what on earth are you worried about, you consistently get really goodmarks, you'll probably pass by miles

If you've learned the pieces then that's not a problem. If you haven't and the level is quite hard for you then a few hours of practice a day will pay off good.

thanks everyone....it's just the performer's certificate that i'm doing.... pieces are fine..just need some polishing....

another thing...on top of that...i am going to do my grade 6 (ABRSM) organ as well... in march.....hope the dates of the exam won't crash....

go for it! you might find if you ring up the school they'll let you in to have a quick go on the piano some time, which will definitely help. Can you get a friend round and play your whole programme through, no breaks, no chat, so you get the feel for concentrating that long and switching from the different pieces and styles? focus on what you love about the music! Good luck!

If the dates clash you can always phone up the ABRSM and see if you can get them to change it- last year my grade 7 exam clashed with my GCSE mock so my teacher asked them to change the date and they did. I think you then have to take what you're given though- the new date was a bit earlier than we'd been expecting, but we were grateful to get it changed at all really.

thanks everyone...i will work hard....and get 2 distinctions...haha

I know a few people that have done the Trinity Performance and they've all done really well (high passes and distinctions). It seems a lot fairer than the ABRSM diploma and the examiners have been really friendly apparantly! Wishing you all the best laugh.gif
