Hi,

This is somewhat away from this forum's focus on the Western Art Music tradition.

The obituary in The Economist this week is for Bhimsen Joshi. It's well worth a read if you do subscribe to The Economist or if you can get your hands on a copy.

I then tracked down some video of him on youtube, and was completely captivated. I don't know anything about the traditions of Indian music, but was impressed by his ability.

I'm really sad to hear this news. He was a very renowned musician.
