I'm very out of practice. wacko.gif The instrument that gets the time is the one where I have lessons to pay for and which can be played quietly with a mute. The Fantasia on Greensleeves currently sounds better on my second instrument than it does on my first. blush.gif

Argh, I don't think I can make this. It's a friend's birthday, and I think we're meant to be doing something during the day sad.gif

Turns out we have a rather monumental clash... sad.gif

I might still come to this and miss the other concert, but Matthew might not be able to. sad.gif

Sorry, I would have taken Musicstand, but I'm working on that Saturday sad.gif

Was going to say he should come on his own, but just realised he's not 18 yet! ohmy.gif

Still pondering the clash - is anyone going for a meal afterwards?

Does Musicstand have any 18 year old musical friends and would that get round the problem? unsure.gif I understand why the under-18 rule is there, but it seems a shame for him not be be able to come - especially when he's so mature and sensible. sad.gif

Floss - I'm hoping that there'll be a meal afterwards...

Good! Maybe I could organise something in the hope I'll be there!

Will be leaving for home about 7pm (have a diploma rehearsal with accompanist the following day), but in principle, yes, I'm up for at least one course of a meal! Thanks for sorting, Celeste smile.gif

Anyone got a poster for this event??? I could display a few smile.gif

EDIT: Not necessary - I conjured one up from the website.

Now going to be displayed at daughter's school and have also give a full print out of details to her clarinet teacher - he'll have contacts elsewhere, including adults.

Also given info to music head at school and suggested she pass it to any other instrument tutors/players she knows both in and out of school.

Anyone displayed any in York yet? Banks put one up last year - or at least said they would - though I seem to remember it being said that someone had gone in and not seen it.

I've also emailed details around our band members and put a notice in our local villages mag "The Link".

Hopefully might rustle up some local interest. smile.gif

Thanks for all that, Dawn! smile.gif

I keep having a longing look-in on this thread and scotliz's Gloucester event thread - as if that were going to make it more likely that I could make either of them. rolleyes.gif

If I'm going to be anywhere other than Latin America then, it looks like NZ.

Thank you to all those of you who offered to be his responsible adult, it was very kind of you. When I posted I hadn't talked to Musicstand about the Play Day, but he informed me that he couldn't have gone anyway as it's bang in the middle of his AS level exams. The week afer the Play Day he has exams on every single day, so really it would have been a very bad idea for him to go laugh.gif He would have loved to have gone, though, he enjoys the forum events.

I haven't put posters up around York yet ph34r.gif but it's on my list of things to do this week. Unfortunately I realised that I'd lost last year's poster and the A5 flyer/booklet thingy I made, when my old computer crashed. rolleyes.gif I normally put one in Banks along with some flyers so will do same again.

I'll also email details round my orchestra - have mentioned it to several string people who seemed interested.

I should know on Friday.

Well done on your directing at Glasgow by the way, you're becoming a very fine musical director smile.gif

Am travelling up to the wrong side of the Pennines on the Friday night, then crossing to the correct side on Saturday morning. Need to be home late that evening, or pianocelloflute will be playing my accompaniments to herself on the Sunday laugh.gif
