I was just wondering how useful private teachers find this magazine, and whether it is more geared towards teachers in school.

It is geared that way but still of interest. I find it helps keep me informed about issues in teaching in general, curricula for schoool music at each key stage, government initiatives in music ed etc. I did renew this year but decided not to go for the online subscription - this gives access to lesson resources that would seem to be only appropriate for school music teachers.

I used to read this when I was teaching A-level music and found it hugely useful for that. I agree though that it did seem more geared towards classroom teaching.
