hiya!
after studying the course for a term now i'm wondering how evryone else is, or has found the course??
the only bi im worrying about at the moment is the listening and analysis, i know what i want to say, but there is a pen to paper block!
does anyone else experience this problem?

Same! Listening and analysis paper will be the worst! Although we have to have assessed performances for practical every month! I can't prepare a piece to exam standard in a month!! But other than that, Im enjoying it!

I know exactly what u mean! Performance and composition were fine 4 me @ AS and i could just about cope with essay qus, but when it came 2 the listening and analysis, i was terrible. Still am infact, Im taking A2 this year.
My school doesnt offer music beyond GCSE level, so ive taught myself. It is a little daunting coming up to the exam period, and not knowing wether i am doing the wrong type of revision and work, and hearing friends at music school talk about the things they are learning in their A level classes. It quite stressful on top of my GCSEs as well.

I don't find the analysis bit too hard but the listening paper is annoying in that you know about what you're hearing but the questions are so vague and badly phrased that there's a bit of luck involved in putting the right thing down on paper, apart from if you do the dictation option (this is Edexcel, by the way).
I'm really enjoying the course though, especially the "compositional techniques" part- we've been studying Bach chorale harmony- and I'm doing my solo performance next month so I know how you feel Helen! Good luck with your performance!
