Hi all,

just came back from this years concert. Played Faur?'s Sicilienne and Koehler op. 33/II no. 8 (a grade 8 exam piece). It went soooooo well. I am really pleased. Only one fingering mistake in the Koehler. And the Faur? was really listenable to. Will do that piece again next year - and this time from memory!

Since I will do grade 5 in November, I will not have to do a great deal on the Koehler till, well, somewhere around year after next? And I got a lot of nice comments from my Japanese fellows.

Well, two more pieces and I am through with Koehler op. 33 book 1 and 2. Already in start position for book 3 (actually, did some work on the first 3 pieces already). Not bad for something I started 15 Dec 2009. And I decided to play Faur?'s Fantaisie next year as my second piece. Started that a couple of days ago. Well, I am so pleased my repertoire finally is getting somewhere.

Congratulations! I love your choice of pieces too; the Faure is just enchanting, and I LOVE Kohler!!!! It sounds like you're doing well in your studies. I get frustrated not having enough time to commit to flute but love it when i'm in a 'flute mode' mindset!

If you fancy a fun and funky piece by the way (and any other formuty friend come to that!) I currently have a free to print piece of music 'Loretta learns the blues' here; http://www.masquerade-music.co.uk/freemusic.html
(just scroll down to the bottom, pick your parts and PRINT!) There's other free resources there for windy people and teachers too.

All the best in your music,

Saxgirl.
