my sister plays the flute and i have just started the violin annd she is on grade 3 and she keeps talking about meoldy (sorry if i spelt it wrong) and i dont know what it is can somebody tell me so i know what she is talkin about thankyou SAmantha

the melody is like the tune that you would porbably hear mainly
eg. if there was a band you would probably recognise the main tune and not the
backing behind it
say Lord of the Dance u would recognise the music that would go with the words and not the backing music with it
sorry its hard 2 explain without u being there so u can hear wot i mean

er, melody?
It's the main tune. For example in a choir the melody might me the actual song, but the people going 'ahhhh' are doing the harmony part. Hope this helps, and doesn't confuse you,
