Hi All,
Just a quick query about constriction and what exercises etco you employ to work through/ help students avoid it?
In particular I have a student at the moment who finds it ny-on impossible to access 'head voice' (I know this term will get me shot by some, but you know what I mean). I've read Kayes and used her exercises on retraction and worked on the Estill siren without much success. With the siren he just hits a very tight 'ceiling' and goes no further, no matter what.
I have been told and read a great deal about the use of the siren in working with constriction problems, but now wonder if I'm missing something?!
Just wondered what everyone else thought?
Thanks
J
