I know there are less viola players then violin. What do you think the ratio of viola vs. violin player is? Just wondering for my senior project it would be an intersting little fact! Thanks

Hmm.. I don't know.
If it helps, I play the viola, and the violin but the viola is my main instrument.

It would be interesting to know... probably a lot less viola players.
Oh, well, good things come in small packages!

hehe, is that comment appropriate for a VIOLA??! lol... but yeah... the viola is a cool instrument. it's a shame more people don't play it, but then again, that would mean less demand for those who do take the trouble...

Yes, I am in demand at music centre. Not at school though
I've been refused a place in the band for 'Grease' because I don't really play an instrument that can be used for rock and roll! I really get annoyed sometimes with the way my school sometimes treats those who want to play....

that's just silly... to say no to an enthusiastic player... and it wouldn't take an awful lot of imagination to write a suitable part for the viola, for pete's sake... hey, have pizz all the way through even - surely they could think of something!

I know... what a sad world we live in

And then the music teachers complain that not enough people audition for stuff!
