He's an experienced musician who plays other instruments to a high level and we were careful that all his songs were well practised in performance settings - he did 3 festivals in the spring and got useful feedback. And on the day all seems to have gone very well because the online result says

I really enjoyed your son's performance. His tuning is excellent and I think he's going to develop a very good tone as his voice matures - you can hear occasional really lovely notes already. Most impressive for his age. I hope he continues to enjoy singing for many years to come.
