Hello!

I have tried to find the link to contact you privately regarding the other thread, but it eludes me.Although I looked in Help which provided an answer,I couldn`t find any link at the top of the page as it stated.

Would you be kind enough to provide it for me?

As these non musical discussions seem very popular,is it a good idea to set up another Forum called Chat for instance?

I post on a number of other websites specifically related to individual subjects and this problem appears to be alleviated. It gives members the option to chat on other non musical subjects and the Forum description clearly informs people that don`t wish to chat the option of not going there.

Furthermore you could give it a trial run and if it dies a death delete it or if it does well, this problem that has arisen recently will be solved.

Finally I wish to apologise because of the confusion that arose through me posting this:"Please do not post any confidential information or any information that would infringe upon the proprietary, privacy or personal rights of others".

I did this because of the reference to the place I previously lived in.As I thankfully moved from there over 5 years I don`t believe it breached confidentiality.

However I am not apologising for the other contents I posted in that locked thread as I still stand by my own opinion on the matter.

I hope this rectifies the situation between you and I.

Kind regards smile.gif

Instead of starting these topics, why don't you give the moderators time to reply to your PM's?

They're probably busy moderating on top of their usual jobs. Oddly enough, this happens to be a musical website ohmy.gif and if there was a 'chat' forum, it would have to be even more heavily moderated to protect the younger people on these forums; and you wouldn't be able to complain about the closing down of threads.

If you read my post carefully, you will see I can`t find the link to PM Ms Morris.

I am more than aware this is obviously a music forum.Indeed it appears to be a website based on music and,if I`m correct, the ABRSM is the most respected music examination board there is.

Please correct me if I`m wrong.

I have directed my question for Ms Morris`s specific attention and reply only.My posting does not refer to the word "complaint" once, but merely offering a suggestion.

I can now now see for myself why Ms Morris and her colleagues have arrived at their conclusion.Your reply has just demonstrated this.

It`s very rare that I post here<<<< please look at the number of posts I have made and my contributions have always been music related.

It always pays to get your facts correct before posting.

I agree with you about this...a lively forum needs a community, a group of people that know each other well. That way, we can answer their musical problems better. That's why we need a special place to do this. If we have that place then nobody will start to hijack threads with a lot of jokes and riddles.

i know me and a few others asked about this quite a while ago, and we got told that we wouldnt have a 'chat' forum.

I agree a chat forum would be a very good idea but I can see problems arising with it too so maybe it's not worth the trouble. sad.gif

thing is, if there is nowhere else for "chat" to happen, it will end up getting into the threads... because we are only human!
cheeble
Yep... a bit of a dilemma, this one.

bizarre idea, but maybe someone should set up a website where all users on here can chat

That's a good idea, but we need to find someone who
1) knows how to do this
2) has time to do this and keep it running
3) wants to do this

I only fit 3), unfortunately. Until someone volunteers I have a feeling this won't happen. Let's just be happy with the threads we've got. smile.gif

Why all this apathy? It`s fairly straightforward setting up another Forum.Look at how many different forums/categories exist already.

Let`s await the reply from the adminstration, but in the meantime let`s demonstrate that we can contribute in a sensible manner, and our little community can grow and thrive in relative harmony smile.gif

Forums are easy to set up. If you are really after one, say and I'll do it there and then
