Disclaimer: I am merely mentioning a lovely violin piece which is fun to play and excellent for improving G string playing. I am not suggesting that people should include it on advanced certificate programmes, diploma programmes, concert programmes or anything else. I take no responsibility if people practise this instead of what they are meant to be doing.

just quickly checked the forums, on my way out but this really made me laugh, thanks Organistin

This is another

piece and all on the G string. Excellent for practising smooth shifts and for getting to grips with the high positions on the G string.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPcCQqfEDPMYour G string should be tuned to B flat for the entire piece.
oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh just gone to listen to it before I left out of the door to leave the house (am going to a friend....)
shouldn't have listened to it.....
I heard it before, a LONG TIME AGO and I forgotten all about this piece........
I LOVE IT TO DEATH
I never knew its title or who had written it or where it came from,
NOW YOU'VE DONE IT ORGANISTIN, I'VE GOT TO GET THE SHEET MUSIC FOR THIS!!!

AND.......
I LOVE PLAYING ON THE G STRING!
in fact last year I've done with my teach Air on G adaptation by Wilhemji which is all on the G string and I loved it (by the way, got to get that out and 'refine it' as I never did play it too well).
so......
THIS IS NOW ON MY SHOPPING LIST

ps to everyone: don't worry I don't want to learn this piece 'yet', it is FAR too advanced for me, I just HAVE TO HAVE IT in my music library for the 'one day I will play it projects'. I have many pieces like that in my music library
