E-mail from the NCO this evening- then opened to find Under 11s newsletter! What thoughtful timing!
Wonderful - just what you needed!

NCO's Facebook page says this:
National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain
Apologies to everyone who is still waiting to hear the outcome of their audition. We have been extremely busy in the office stuffing envelopes this week to get the results out to you. Lots of letters went yesterday, and the rest went today ? so they should be with you very soon now! (Unless you?re currently in Under 13s of course, in which case you won?t here until after Sunday?s concert.)
We tried to let people know by email yesterday so you didn?t have to wait any longer but unfortunately our internet server has been down so we?ve been without a connection for almost two days now.
Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear.

Thank you, Claudia's Mum, very helpful! My DD said that none of her Under 11 friends had heard either, so that was reassuring.

Check your email, I have just had one from them with the results - a day too late but its there!
BB got into the U12's. We found out by email this morning and then the letter arrived later. Thanks to his teacher, his accompanist, and the batty parents on here for keeping me sane!
Purplesam, good luck and I hope news arrives soon.

Thank you all for hanging in there with me. DD said that her friends waiting for U12s don't know yet either, and also said that Roger Clarkson told them on this year's course that sometimes they deliberate for ages about which children to choose for a particular section and thus send results out later.

Let's hope he hasn't deliberated too long this year and you get the results today!!!

We pay the fees less the donation, i.e. the subsidised rate, and any donations/fund raising separately.

All this waiting... and it's a no. Reading the sheet I'm not surprised. it seems the pieces were good enough (played gd 7 pieces well) but the sightreading not. It all meant so much to her that she was extra nervous and obviously panicked a bit in the sightreading. But she will be OK- she said herself that at least she's done it twice already if she doesn't get in- and I'm sure we'll find a good use for the money saved...
However your lot have all done so well because I have just heard that out of the 5 children I knew from our area, not a single one got in (flute and 2 trumpets as well as our cellos). All the very best to yours and I look forward to hearing about the course!

That's rough to have been kept waiting for a no - so sorry she didn't get in. Hope she will be OK, it must be so disappointing for her, but she's done amazingly well to have been in for 2 years!
Sorry to hear that PurpleSam. All the applicants are very talented and it can be one tiny thing that meant a place over not being offered. Hugs to DD!

Very sorry to hear that Purple Sam - it sounds like you have a very sensible daughter, though. Also nice to have good feedback on the pieces.
Now go and book a holiday with those saved fees!

Sorry that she didn't get in. That's a real shame.
Glad that she's enjoyed the last 2 years, maybe she'll give it another go next year?
Does she want to continue with the Regionals?

We are 'newbies' but we are planning to pay the basic fee (with Gift Aid) and then do donations as and when we can.

You obviously supported him in his practising and all the usual ways parents help a young musician. Its a joint effort among pupil-teacher-parent.
I wonder how many from 'bassoon county' in my neck of the woods got in though. He might meet a few of them.
