Does anyone know of a jazz piano teacher who lives in the Stoke Newington area in London? The parents would like the teacher to not only be able to teach jazz piano but also to be someone that also has a career as a jazz piano performer. I have had a quick look on musicteacher.co.uk but obviously personal recommenations are better.

Good news is that there are quite a lot of jazz performers who live in the Stoke Newington area, so that should help. Let me do a bit of digging and I'll see if I can come up with anyone.

Best places to try are either your local library (they keep a register of teachers and musicians) or the Musicians Union. They are always very helpful.
