Sorry, not a reply, but I just noticed you joined the forums over five years ago and this is your first post.
You must be of a very patient disposition!!!

Haha-you have to be to do this job! To be honest,I`d totally forgotten I`d joined the forum till I suddenly needed some inspiration about this wedding piece.
Ah well-better late than never.

I have a piano pupil whose mum and dad are getting married in December and they would like her to play at the wedding. She has been learning for about 10 months and is about Prep Test level. She`s 8 years old and fairly confident. Has anyone any suggestions for something she could play?

You know, I still think they should fork out for a proper organist.....

Well -who knows?? She may be a budding Ian Tracey!

Beethoven's Ode to Joy is a real favourite, suitable for the occasion and sounds quite impressive for what it is.
Lots of books (Pauline Hall, Bastien etc.) have versions, which can be adjusted just slightly if need be.
Otherwise here is a D major version, feely available, which is about Prep level. (You could always transpose it to C or G major if you really wanted to)/
http://www.gmajormusictheory.org/Freebies/Level2/2Ode.pdf That`s a brilliant idea-I`d not thought of that one!
She`d probably manage the version in D with a bit of work.
Thanks!
