The big A4 envelope turned up through the letter box!I Passed!!!! Eeeeee so excited!I was at college, so my mum rang me. Hopefully have a stronger application to uni to do music

i shall hopefully apply to some conservatoires like birmingham, rncm ?! royal scottish royal welsh, leeds college and then university wise, huddersfield, actually im not sure, its difficult because the entry requirements are usually high, and academically i don't do so well..... oh well

You must be able to analyse and discuss music to a high level to have passed the diploma (well done by the way) and have grade 8 distinction on another instrument, so the universities would surely take that into account when looking at your overall potential. Best thing is to contact the departments you are interested in applying to and chat with them to get an idea of what they're looking for, and then focus on promoting your best points, surely your enthusiasm and dedication (and talent) will shine through. Just wanted to share the news that I passed my DipABRSM, got the results through yesterday and it still hasn't sunk in!! For anyone reading this who is yet to take their diploma, I just wanted to assure you to really not get too distressed if you make the odd mistake during the recital, it really is about the overall "flow" of the performance and musicianship demonstrated. Although I was told this countless times before the exam by both my teacher and pianist, I still didn't really believe it and actually thought I had failed due to one or two "silly" mistakes as a result nerves. I hope this helps in some way

Hi I sat the teaching diploma (piano) and was thrilled on Saturday when the postman delivered my results ? a pass, thank goodness! It certainly was a nail biting week last week! If you have any questions about the exam etc feel free to ask
