The British Kodaly Academy (supported by the Weingarten Trust) is running an excellent course at the Birmingham Conservatoire on the above dates.

There will be choir and solfege (musicianship using relative solfa) classes on each of the three days, and there will be workshops on Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Advanced methodology.

There will also be a Dalcroze workshop and one on Baroque Dance - and on the final day a workshop and concert with the Hungarian folk group 'Muzsikas'. They do, amongst other things, their own interpretations of some of the folk songs collected by Bartok.

The three day workshop is entitled 'From Folk Music to Art Music' and one of the tutors will be the totally wonderful and inspiring Dr. Laszlo Nemes, Director of the Kodaly Institute.

There are details of who to contact and how to apply on the BKA website - www.britishkodalyacademy.org. Or you can send a PM either to me or to forum member Moo.

I'm not sure I understand your post, PianoNotes... unsure.gif ...maybe I'm just not firing on all cylinders this morning! Exhausted after all the teaching, a fair bit of emotional turmoil, and a lot of driving - didn't get up until 10am blush.gif .

It was an excellent course - wonderful tutors, a hugely varied programme, and the stunning Muzsikas. My friend Moo organised it beautifully and the participants were just great. Three people came from Holland!

Now to start planning the Spring Course in Cambridge and the Summer School in Cheltenham...will post more details as soon as I have them.
