Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone could help, im currently preparing a programme for my final year university recital however i am stuck on what to 'theme' the recital on, i have some pieces that i would like to do, but i cant merely call it a history of the song etc can anyone help, songs im interested in doing are schubert im fruhling, fruhlingsglaube, quilter lover and his lass, brahms meine liebe ist grun, berlioz villanelle, duparc chanson triste and some others, grateful of any suggestions. Thanks

The first three refer to Spring. Can you take "The Seasons" as your theme and slot the others into their appropriate part of the year? I foresee one problem: you may well not wish to finish with Winter, so you may have to take a non-chronological order e.g. start with Spring and finish with Summer.

As well as the three Spring ones, "Vilanelle" is from the song cycle "Les Nuits d'Ete" (or Summer Nights), so the seasons theme is definitely promising.

You could do something from Schubert's Winterreise and I can think of at least 2 Faure melodies for Autumn (Automne, and Dans la foret de septembre)
