Full Version: Any other preparation material for Practical Musicianship?

I've done the AB Practical Musicianship books (Musicianship in Practice and specimen tests) a few times through, but would like some other material that prepares for this test directly. Does anyone else publish material specifically targeted at this exam? I don't fancy grade 8 theory, and if I want to progress to LRSM I will eventually need this grade 8. Without someone specifically teaching the syllabus I find it hard to use other materials for practice as I don't know if I have selected the correct answers to score questions or if the types of questions I ask myself are grade-appropriate in the first place. It's not a very popular route, it seems, but is there something more than just the AB books on this subject?

I think the answer to your question is 'no', there are no other resources in existence which are specificaly for the AB Practical Musicianship exams. There will be material out there which will help, but it would probably have to be drawn from lots of different sources. I did Grade 8 and the examiner and I had great fun! party1.gif

I'd come to the same conclusion. All my material for Practical Musicianship I have collated from various sources.

It is not in one place. It is a case of looking at the criteria separately and building a portfolio of material that explores those areas.
