hi folks ive a recond. Yamaha U1 which sounds very loud when you play it even without using the dynamics etc
is it suppose to be like that -my piano tuner says its prob because its a big piano in a small room-he said he wouldnt have bought it for his own piano,but i bought it because i liked the hype surrounding it plus the way it looked !

As your piano tuner says - the size of the room relative to the piano does make a big difference, as does what else is in the room (bare floorboards vs carpet, curtains, a big soft sofa, etc). If you want to "mute" it a bit, you could try putting something thick and soft behind it between it and the wall. I have a friend who muted his piano by stuffing a spare duvet behind it. It makes it "ring" much less.
