I've noticed a piece recently called Hall of Mirrors Smith. I've no idea what this piece is like but Gerrard McChrystal plays it and he likes exciting pieces. The blurb I read claims this is on the TG Grade 7 list. There's another one he also plays called Duo by Sweeney but I've no idea what standard it is, might be worth investigating.

The Cletic and Out of the Cool are both excellent pieces but are more advanced than grade 8.

I spend too long looking at sax music blush.gif

I heard someone play Ravel's "Piece en Norme de Habanera" on soprano sax in the Grade 7-8 class of our local festival and enjoyed it.

Edit. Oops - actually it was the age 12-15 free choice class - so don't know what grade it is, but the competitor in question was also competing in the grade 7-8 class.

Interesting... Perhaps this is the same person as I heard play it (in Bristol). I looked on youtube before I posted last night and found a video of the boy I'd heard - but playing at the national eistedfodd (never can spell that).
