think of buying a second hand one of these... any one out there think it is better than the Amanti which is the one is currently on.

I don't know anything about the Yamaha T100 - but almost anything is better than an Amati !!
Just be wary if you are buying a secondhand instrument off the internet from someone you don't know, and you don't get to try it out / inspect it first. I'm not against buying second-hand instruments (I picked up a good bargain from a local music shop) but I don't think it's something you should buy on e-bay for example.

surely buying a Yamaha trumpet on ebay is ok... but not one of those indian ones. I am intending to buy off ebay that is why I am sticking to Yamaha any other good names to look out for.

Yes lots. too many to name here. You can bust any trumpet, including Yamahas. Some good names which are fairly common are Bach, Yamaha, Getzen and Stomvi (in my order of preference, but that's personal.) All these tend to be generally well made. But like I say, they're made of brass and brass isnt indestructible.

Good luck!
