ORCAL is the Making Music Scotland national amateur orchestra, designed for the performance of pieces which outstrip the capabilities of your local orchestra, either through difficulty but usually because they require massive numbers of players, 8 French Horns, that sort of thing. They meet twice a year on a workshop basis, next one coming Jan 20th-22nd at St Thomas Aquin's School in Central Edinburgh, ?80 including refreshments and a Saturday supper.
