hi everyone...is there someone who's taking music exam(s) in march...i'm taking two...and it's quite scary......i hope i will be alright....as my organ teacher has high expectation....must get a minimum of 140/150 for my grade 6 organ exam......omg....

I'm just taking G5 theory, which isn't particularly scary. You say you "must get 140/150". Why? Are they going to take you out and shoot you if you don't? I hope you won't beat yourself up if you "only" get 139! There's been some discussion around here lately about people who whine about only just scraping a distinction, etc. Look out!

If your teacher honestly is putting that much pressure on you then I'd get a new one! I don't think that many people who score in excess of 140 in an exam do so having gone in with the thought that they have to, surely the extra pressure would go a long way in preventing them from doing that....

I am doing Grade 7 flute.

Liebe_Klavier: It simply isn't fair to have that much pressure put on you! 140/150 is nearly 95% which is practically perfect, and anything above a pass is good!

i won't say anything..... i do think my music director (he's teaching me) treats his students like this.....i don't really care though....anyway....playing the organ is different from playing the piano....the passion of the two things ar different....
