Does anyone know when the results of a diploma taken in December will be out? We haven't heard anything yet - it does seem to be an excessively long time.

If you took your diploma with the ABRSM, you might like to refer to your exam appointment letter which normally includes some information on when you might expect the result. In the past it has been around 8 weeks from the end of the diploma week. This applies to UK diplomas only.

I was told that my (Trinity) diploma result should be available around about the February half term holiday.

I was told 2-3 weeks; didn't believe it so e-mailed Trinity to check and they confirmed it. Mind you, nearly 5 weeks later and I still haven't heard anything. When is Feb half term?

London borough half term is Monday 13th to Friday 17th. It may vary in other parts of the country.
I got my ABRSM dip results on the Friday just before the half term started - a couple of years ago now, having taken the exam on Friday 16th December.

I am not expecting the Dip results much before the Feb half-term. Christmas always slows everything down (I took my exam on 14 Dec).
On another note - I presume if you pass you get an A4 envelope with certificate, but if you fail, it's a DL envelope?!

For TG, the certificate comes separately - the initial envelope will look identical, pass or not.

Bear in mind too that the results arrive throughout the course of the week: some people will receive their results on the Tuesday, whereas others won't get theirs until the Saturday.

I got a C5 envelope (A5 size) for a fail... it comes with the comment sheet plus forms for resit and details of options available.

b-c I somehow missed your actual diploma day posts - have caught up with a lot of the thread, but can't remember or find which Brahms you played! Keeping the paws crossed anyway!

I think it was movement 1and 2 of the 1st Sonata.

I know it might get a few of you agitated, but I have surprisingly just heard a couple of DipABRSM results from the December session, which of course is before they said they'd send them out. Time to start watching the post with trepidation!
Anyway, sadly the results were disappointing. Two that I accompanied both narrowly failed. I did think they were borderline so wasn't too surprised, but it's disappointing none the less. As ever I hope they both manage to take it as an opportunity to learn and come back stronger next time, so they'll be better players in the end than if they passed first time.
At least I accompanied a distinction at LTCL this session so have had some good news, still waiting on a couple more DipABRSM results.

The time delay with feedback from the exam has left me disinterested, to be honest. I've moved on, and if I haven't passed, I certainly won't be pumping any more money into the ABRSM coffers for any resit.

It does take time for any examining board to mark and moderate these high level examinations. Granted, TG are usually a little quicker (my result came in exactly 6 weeks), but it appears you took your exam in late December (later than I did my ATCL) : this is still a reasonable length of time to wait, in my opinion.

Thought I'd just add to this thread: dip results seem to be coming out for people who took exams on the Monday in December.
I didn't mention it on here because I'm shy like that, and I wasn't at all sure I'd pass, or get anywhere near it. Anyway, I passed the dipAB piano teaching.

Strangely enough

the bit that I'm most overjoyed about is that I don't have to do the QS again.
