Basically i am just finishing chopin nocturne Op37 No2 and was wondering out of the Op15 No 1 or No 2 which would be the most approachable??

The G Minor Op15 No 2 is the easiest of all the Chopin Nocturnes, so more approachable than its predecessor.

Edit ---- Oops sorry thats wrong, the G Minor you have been doing is the easiest one !. But I still say the Op15 No 2 , also G Minor is a good bet to do next.

I think you mean op. 15 no. 3. I'm fairly sure op. 15 no. 2 is in F#. Neither op. 15 no. 1 nor op. 15 no. 2 are easy, but I would guess the latter is slightly easier. The difference isn't significant though, so pick whichever you like best. You might want to try an easier nocturne (op. 32 no. 1, op. 9 no. 1 or 2, any of the posthumous) first though.

I stand corrected . The other straightforwArd one in G Minor is Op 15 No 3
No 2 in Fsharp is really quite difficult

Yes Op. 15/3 is the "easiest" of all, at least it is the easiest to play the notes. Op 15/1 and Op 15/2 are both of middling difficulty with some tricky bits. Op. 37/2 is not especially easy either.

The posthumous Op. 72/1 and the C#m (KK4a No. 16) are also relatively "easy".

After those, Op. 32/1 and Op. 55/1 are probably the next most approachable.

I learned Op 9 No 1 in the last few months of last year and am still playing it, and people love to hear even my slightly ragged version.

I had assumed since that was what my teacher gave me to learn that that one would have been the easiest.

Anyway, its gorgeous wub.gif
