Has anyone tried one of these. They look pretty but are they any good in your opinion? I have tried playing with no shoulder rest and like it but would like to get a similar effect by playing with a low shoulder rest...any thoughts?

I can recommend the "diamond" model, it's by far the best I have used, including quite a long period not using a rest at all. It is indeed very pretty! smile.gif One of the things I like about it is the freedom of movement it allows, and it's very light. It does come off sometimes but that's probably the angle I like to have it on the instrument. You can adjust it in every direction. I did nearly have to sell a kidney for it though wink.gif - they aren't cheap.

Do you have yours set on the lowest position, Inigo?

I'd second that about the 'diamond' model. It's really comfortable as well as extremely pretty, and mine has NEVER fallen off, though no doubt it will now I've said that! I have tried various shoulder ersts over the last few years and this one is definitely the best.

It really is light, fairly low and compact and seems to be quite adjustable - my only reservation is that I don't seem to be able to get quite the angle I need with it, so I use it in rotation with a very low-tech sponge, depending on how I'm feeling.

Hi. I had one on order and it arrived this afternoon..hooray. I have put it on the lowest setting and am wondering whether this is my imagination, but I am almost convinced that I can feel my violin reverberating more and that it sounds quite a bit louder.
it is pretty and matches the back of my violin but I will probably have to adjust it so that it fits perfectly ...oh no, here we go again, endless faffing about, and I'd only just got my Kun Bravo sorted after 2 years before I decided to change!
