Hope you enjoy it Tenor Viol, I thought about doing last years event but other things got in the way so I didn't get there. I believe it was a blessing in disguise though as the claris needed an A clari as well as Bb clari otherwise there was a lot of transposing to do and as I can't do that anywhere near quickly and accurately enough, I'm glad I didn't pay out for it.

They have e-mailed the music in advance this time, as I decided to do it - and one of the pieces it doesn't specify Bb clarinet, so I e-mailed them back to ask if it was for A (as I could have either written a cheeky transposition or obtained appropriate instrument) and she was a bit vague saying she thought it was probably Bb, so I've left it as is...might have to do some quick thinking on the day...

But Tenor Viol, even though you're doing the string one presumably, I'll be there if you want to say hello.

I enjoyed meself - it was all Bb which was a relief. Amina the conductor worked really hard to interact with people and I felt a bit bad as we were all quite quiet. She offered the chance for someone to conduct which I wish I'd volunteered for now. Will be more forthcoming next time.... happy.gif

I'm still worn out! We were throoughly drilled on the Tchaikovsky - heavens it's hard stuff...

The good news is that my music reading skills are sufficient to not get lost - even when I can't play the notes!

The director was Richard and most of the time he played from the leader's desk rather than conducting, which added another frisson of excitement.

We did a full performance but as it takes 30 minutes, it was felt to be tricky to arrange for both groups to come together.
