Hello I applied to study postgraduate studies in Piano Performance and since I am not from the UK I really do not know about the reputation of my first two choices.

One of them is the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, I like it because it offers a great deal of performance opportunities, competitions for pianists and it is two year course.

And the other option is Birmingham Conservatoire, which I like primarily because I was considered for a partial scholarship (and since international students pay so much more than EU students this eases the economic burden a bit) and because I know three of the piano teachers and I think they are really good pianists..but I don't know much about the competitions within the institution or other opportunities for pianists.

So I would really appreciate your help guys!! What have you heard of these conservatoires from piano students? I'm not totally convinced by Birmingham Conservatoire, can any of you prove me wrong and tell it is really a good place to study?

Thanks!!

Both of these Conservatoires have excellent reputations as far as I am aware.
Have you not considered any of the three major conservatoires in England, Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music ? These are the ones which have produced the largest number of high-profile international musicians trained in the U.K. Careful study of their respective websites will reveal what post-graduate courses they offer.

Best wishes for your future studies and success wherever you decide to go.

If you prefer the look of the Royal Scottish why don't you let them know you've had an offer of a partial scholaship from Birmingham and see if they can match it.
