Just wondered whether anyone had had any results yet. The online system now shows a timetable for the release of results, which suggests that some should be available now. My batch of exams were a special visit just before week one but I have heard nothing yet...
(Just getting twitchy because I'm pretty sure to get my first ever fail)

I'm twitching, too! The Sons' exams were on day 2 of the exam period, so based on the published timetable I was rather expecting something would have appeared by now... Son No.1 went a bit off the rails at the end of his study, and whilst the rest of the exam went OK, as far as I can tell, I'm a bit nervous that even though he will have passed (I hope!) the result may be disappointing.

Still nothing here.
Whilst I applaud the idea of having a timetable for issuing results, it maybe would have been better to have made it a bit more conservative... Providing results 'early' wouldn't be a problem, but providing them 'late' just causes frustration.
[As an aside, OH can't understand why ABRSM takes so long to issue the results at all. As he pointed out, the examiner knows whether or not you've passed before you even leave the building, and knows the individual test marks as well. So why does it take weeks before candidates get to know even this basic information?]

We're now waiting. Grade 3 bassoon was taken today.
She says there were some wrong notes in the scales and the examiner gave her a knowing look when she put the E flat in on the way down that she had forgotten on the way up.

She seemed pleased that the piece of sightreading had no dynamic marks. Is that normal at grade 3? Overall doesn't sound too bad.

I have a Gd 7 violin 134 and a Gd 2 violin 102 and I am most thrilled about the 102! The Gd 7 is incredibly talented and hard working and deserved her great mark but the Gd 2 is a kid who loves his violin and has almost insurmountable learning difficulties. He has slogged away for a very long time and insisted he wanted to do the exam, we timed it so he could do the old pieces with the easier scales that came in for 2012. On the day he played OK but totally lost it in the scales, he just cannot store all the patterns in his head. Sight reading and aural went out of the window too although he can do them when he is calm. The fact that he loves his instrument and is determined to play it even though his school friends think it uncool is wonderful to me and counts more than any marks.

Love that quote about the wee boy who loves his instrument!, reminds me of my own son, who is ten and a half, has never told any of his friends he's been learning piano for almost 2 years, in case they think he's not cool!, he's about to sit grade 2 next Wed 21st!, I've got to tell the school he has a dentist appointment!, he'd never forgive me if his secret got out!!!
Funny the way they think at that age, then when they get to like 15 at secondary school, suddenly the ones who can play along to the current chart hits become these amazing cool people that everyone wants to know!
Well done to all with results, hopefully sons exam will go well nxt week!!

From my experience three weeks is far from abnormal for ABRSM. Waited 5 or 6 weeks for daughter's grade 8 clarinet. I was starting to think it must be really bad news and teacher didn't want to tell us while we were on holiday, despite having promised to text me.

Teachers hanging onto results is one thing, but assuming willobie is the Applicant then 3 weeks is a bit of a wait. The only time I've had to wait that long has been on the rare occasion of something going wrong at the session - e.g a pupil refusing to do the sight-reading test (!!) or an incorrect piece being offered. When this has happened although the problems weren't with my pupes, ALL the reuslts were held back until the Applicants concerned were notified of the mishaps.
Personally, I'd give the nice people in the Special Visit office a call, willobie.
Hope you hear soon.

In the last few years all my results from special visits have been out well within 2 weeks - usually 10 days. So I probably would be starting to worry by now if I hadn't heard. However as Bagpuss says the special visit office is lovely, so give them a ring Willobie and see if there is any reason for the hold up

I wasn't having a go, andante, it was just how I read your post!
I don't think I have ever waited longer than a couple of weeks for results in over 25 years of using the AB exams - maybe I've just been lucky?
If pupes are entered via a school and the session is close to the holidays then it maybe that noone actually picks up the results for a while. Some of my schools give the peris the login details so we can access our own results if they are issued while the school is closed but that isn't aways the case.
Paws crossed for willobie.

I'm sure this is by no means an extreme wait(!!!) - but I am feeling very jittery about these results. I had hoped that Special Visit results would be reasonably speedy - or at least, not longer than usual...
I have emailed the Special Visits team (too much of a wimp to ring up) but no reply yet. I just keep hoping the results will suddenly turn up in the post...
