Hi

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a Vivaldi Piece other then the Four Seasons that I could perform for my DipABRSM? My teacher suggested the concerto in A minor op3 no6 but i have found the first movement in the grade 7 syllabus! Would you be able to play the whole concerto for the DIp?

Any suggestions would be great.

(It needs to be a Vivaldi piece as I promised my Grandfather I would include one of his works if I ever got round to doing the Dip)

Thanks

Wow.... Your Grandfather was Vivaldi!!! biggrin.gif I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't, but I couldn't resist.

I don't think you need to worry about a piece cropping up on an earlier syllabus. I played one movement of a Handel sonata for my oboe Grade 3 which crops up again at diploma level (albeit with all the other movements too).

The last movement was in the previous grade 7 syllabus so probably not a good idea so the whole thing is grade 7 standard and it's regularly played by quite young children as it's in one of the Suzuki books too.

I agree. The A minor is the one you shouldn't play!
Isn't there a G minor one? I think it's nice - sorry, bit tired blush.gif

Misterioso
The first movement of the E major concerto (Opus 3, No 12) was in the last Grade 8 syllabus. Terrific piece.

By the way, welcome.gif to the forums!
