It's back!

Superb entertainment. How on earth did the boys' team win? Why did the Sugar sack Bilyana?

Whenever there is a decent product on offer, the other team wins. Maybe this is partly to do with the very short time allocated to the task, so that if you put your efforts into designing a good product there isn't enough time left to do a good job on working out the profit margin and the best target market?

As to why Lord Sugar sacked Bilyana, I think he could tell from the way she behaved in the board room that there was no possibility of his ever working with her. That being the case, he might as well get rid of her straight away.
nicki_flute
I think Bilyana did do quite a good job though, but she just wouldn't listen.
Sunrise
She was whingy and talked herself out of the boardroom!! At least she was suitably embarrassed in the after show programme! laugh.gif

Often that's the case : and unfortunately the girls gave no thought to profit margins etc. that doomed them really from the outset, despite a superior product.

As others have said, Bilyana talked herself out of it - Katie would've gone otherwise...

I can no longer get any enjoyment out of this programme. As for the candidates, in most of the series I wouldn't have employed any of them. Theyre clearly chosen as being 'best' for a TV series. Im not going to watch this time.
gwyntdi-enw
Can I join you in not watching, fsharpminor? What started out as a quasi-serious attempt to show how to be successful in business is now the same freak show as most so-called reality TV.
louise1712
Well I still like it, treating it as light relief at the end of the day and not taking it too seriously. It's something I can watch and not have to think about it, which is great biggrin.gif

And still better than most things on the box these days!! (IMHO) laugh.gif

It's not something I've ever watched (don't do much telly) but my daughter wrote a good review of it:

I think it's one of precious few 'reality' shows worth watching, and I think our version with Lord Sugar is far superior to the American Donald Trump version!

There will be more room in the house now that Michael and his enormous ears have gone.

I think Adam is becoming my least favourite candidate.

We were saying just the same thing. Just checking, Adam is the one with blonder hair that thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread and likes to tell everyone what a wonderful job he's doing?? tongue.gif

Yes. Same here. Assuming he's who you have described.

Just noticed I haven't posted here this week...correct decision again, Lord Sugar...

This year's show is not proving to be as entertaining as previous ones. Is the formula tired?

I thought Gabrielle was for the chop tonight...

Gabrielle I think will last for a while, I think perhaps Laura should have gone, but I won't complain that it's Jane that's actually gone...

I'm quite glad Jane went, I hate her selling technique, makes me cringe. Laura could have easily gone though....

Have to say, I'm glad Jane went because she was too OTT. Do you think she ever sells anything in her own business? - I run a mile when some-one tries a hard sell on me like that.

To be honest I'm quite enjoying this lot. Quite a few of them are rather naive in a business sense - (obviously not the ones who keep a handle on costs) and for some reason, I'm enjoying seeing them making idiots of themselves. I don't usually feel this way. In the past I've cringed and had to look away. laugh.gif
CBDPHILLIPS
Yep - I'm a fan too, although it is far more enjoyable towards the end with only a few people.

It's not just that there are only a few, but also that they get to know one another so the teamwork is much better. The early episodes are dreadful, because no-one knows who can be relied on to do what, so they all try to be too pushy and to do everything themselves. It's really a very artificial situation, because no-one would go into business with 7 strangers none of whom knew any of the others.

I was quite impressed by the winning team manager this week, whose name escapes me. He looks a bit depressed, but seemed to motivate his team very well.
Scooby Doo
Argh no, wrong team won
stetenorve
Agreed. Couldn't believe it when Karen read the results.

Adam has to go soon.

Laura to win overall.
BerkshireMum
Funny how the worse team often seems to win! Sorry to see Duane go - he should have been around for a few weeks yet. I'm not convinced about Laura winning, but there are worse candidates still in the process.

I'm not sure about Laura either. She may be the best of a rather bad lot... My vote goes to Nick, who seems to be the only "normal" candidate. Wish he'd sort his hair out though!

Am I missing anything by not watching this series? have to admit I only watched last year because one of the contestants is a friend of my son's fiancee.

They're a particularly average crop this year, in my opinion. Nicolas, Gabrielle and I suppose Tom are OK. The rest I can leave...

As you probably saw in You're Fired, Duane is the brother of Blue singer Simon Webbe.

Here he is as a contestant on All Star Family Fortunes.

I agree about Adam, but not about Laura.
BerkshireMum
I thought Sir Alan was right to fire Katie - after all, it was her third time in the board room and she gave some poor advice on this task. I think Adam will go soon; he was not a good project manager and he's certainly the most irritating candidate still in the process!

"Team" Phoenix really fell apart in the board room - I reckon Stephen made himself a few enemies! It will be interesting to see what happens next week.
Susie
I really must make a note to write to Lord Sugar to request that for the sake of equality we have a male receptionist who takes the phone calls next season. laugh.gif
barry-clari
Jade was very lucky...

Agreed - how did she not get fired? She appeared to be inept on this task. Adam was less annoying than usual.

Laura to win.

With the possible exception of yesterday, there's more often than not been a candidate obviously worse than the Project Manager each time...
Seer_Green
Watching Azhar's progress has been quite interesting. It's been clear to me that they haven't liked him all the way along (I wonder if they haven't seen him as 'one of them'?) and there has been more than one attempt to 'gang up' on him. The trouble is, what he says is usually absolutely spot on - OK, by keeping on about it he's dug himself a deeper and deeper hole - but last night, the losing team had no strategy. He said that, but no one listened. I fear he's probably the sort of person that says what the rest don't want to hear. He wasn't to blame last night, but I think his days were numbered anyway.

Because Azhar showed no passion at all in the board room. He gave the impression that he couldn't care less, whereas Jade was desperate for the job. I don't think Jade will last much longer though, as she was not up to the task.

They just didn't show as much of Adam, and on a market stall he was in his element so didn't seem as annoying. biggrin.gif

I think Tom or Nick are more likely to win than Laura, but we shall see!
